Hello world and welcome to the E Numbers quick list. This is a simple app to help you know what is in the food you eat and why. All you have to do is enter the E number.
Food additives are grouped by function. The groups and functions are :
Colour E100 - 199
Preservatives E200 - 299 (used to keep food eatable for longer)
AntiOxidants & Acidity Regulators E300 - 399 (stop food becoming rancid or changing colour by reducing the chance of fats combining with oxygen)
Thickeners, Stabilisers and Emulsifiers E400 - 499 (help to mix or thicken ingredients)
Acidity Regulators Anti-caking Agents E500 - 599
Flavour Enhancers E600 - 699 (used to bring out the flavour of foods)
Miscellaneous E900 - 1000
Additional Chemicals E1000 - 1999
Sweeteners (intense sweeteners are many times sweeter than sugar whereas bulk sweeteners are similar to sugar in sweetness)
